Will HSR Even Work in the Northeast Corridor?

I often here in debates about the viability of high-speed rail plans in the United States, that "It would work for sure in the Northeast Corridor", basically meaning the stretch connecting Boston, NYC, Philly, Baltimore, and DC. Maybe.  Jay Weiser looks at the likely costs and ridership on an HSR line there and isn't so sure.
