Municipalities Hop on Net Neutrality Bandwagon
Forget the state efforts at passing net neutrality laws (read massive Internet regulation), now cities are getting into the act. Madison, Wisc., Alder Austin King reportedly was to introduce a resolution supporting network neutrality at last night's meeting of the city Common Council. It is due to be voted on March 20. Resolution language can be found here. Since King is especially concerned about preserving free access to all Internet sites, he may be interested in how network neutrality policies have worked out in this regard for municipal networks that have implemented them. The results have been reported here.
