Now more than ever, governments at all levels are looking for ways to reduce spending and improve the services delivered to taxpayers. Reason Foundation's Innovators in Action series, which profiles innovative policymakers in their own words, highlights good government efforts that are delivering real results and value for taxpayers.

Edited by Reason's Leonard Gilroy and Harris Kenny, the Innovators in Action 2012 series profiles a range of innovators who have demonstrated leadership through action on privatization, competition, government re-invention and other market-based policy reforms designed to reduce the costs of government and deliver more value to taxpayers.
