A Municipal Wireless Snapshot

Esme Vos, a noted municipal wireless consultant whose commercial clients include Intel, has done all sides of the debate a great service by collecting and collating that status of municipal wireless bids that came up from 2005 to date (at least Jan. 17).

For starters, we can all get a grasp of the scope of the wireless trend. While it seems that hundreds of communities have been talking about it for the past year, only 41 have actually begun the process. Most so far have gone the public/private route.

The list can be downloaded as a pdf file at Vos’s site, www.muniwireless.com.
