Candidates mix it up over traffic

In LA, Mayor Hahn and some mayor wannabes have been duking it out over traffic. Mostly, their solutions have been small, bad or vague.

Speaking of vague, here’s what one said during a radio interview:

Asked by a caller if he favored opening carpool lanes to single-passenger vehicles, he said, "If there's a problem … I'm going to fix it." But he didn't say what he would do.

And during a debate in which transportation was front and center, one candidate showed up a half hour late because he was, of course, stuck in traffic.
