Chicago Mayor plans for privatization
Mayor Daley has announced a belt-tightening program to avoid tax increases that includes privatizing. He plans to reduce the workforce by about 10%--4,000 employees.
Privatization plans include: custodial services at O'Hare, meter readers, and some administrative services at the water department.
