Florida Creates Efficiency Commission

Last week, Florida Governor Jeb Bush signed an executive order creating the Center for Efficient Government.

One of the main missions of the center is to establish that "it is the policy of the state that all agencies focus on their core missions and deliver services effectively and efficiently by leveraging the agencies' resources, and contract for services that can be more effectively provided by the private sector."

The center will report to the governor and legislature its findings - detailing new standards and opportunities for privatization in Florida.
